Part I: Maximize Social Security
I wrote about this well over two years ago and since it comes up a lot in meetings, it was time to review and add this to the list of podcasts. Even though it’s a review for many, hundreds of others may have not seen this contrarian opinion with numbers to back it up. Popular thought suggest you should wait as long as possible to collect social security. But is that the right strategy?
In this podcast I went through the old newsletter and added some additional commentary. Check it out and let me know what you think.

Put the rifle back in the corner Bryan! Good luck on the hunt
Hi Bryan,
When I did my analysis on when to take social security, I did it from a “when does the money run out” perspective. The money ran out sooner if I took SS sooner instead of waiting until I turn 70. My concern was having enough money for the long haul if my wife or I were the exception and lived into our 90’s. Her mom and dad lived to 96 and 91.
Thanks,
Jim
Another factor to consider, are you more healthier and likely to travel and spend money doing things in your 60’s or in your 80’s? What good is more money in your later years if you are more home bound and less active. Get the money and spend it while you are able.
